Since its launch in 2007, Hyde Park Winter Wonderland has attracted a staggering 10 million visitors, firmly becoming the capital’s most popular winter event.
Winter Wonderland is London’s largest and most dazzling winter event set in the heart of London providing festive fun for seven weeks. There is no admission fee and it offers a whole day out from 10am to 10pm, with beautifully themed attractions set out under thousands of twinkly lights.
Winter Wonderland has the largest open-air ice rink in the UK, stretching over 1,600m2. This year the rink was sponsored by Samsung Galaxy, and laid out around the Victorian bandstand to create the most picturesque and magical centrepiece to Winter Wonderland. The iconic Giant Observation Wheel offers truly spectacular views across the city and two shows from Zippos Circus provide the most thrilling and jaw-dropping extravaganza.
Across Hyde Park’s historic parkland Winter Wonderland introduces some of the most fantastic, thrill-seeking and exciting attractions and rides, some of which have never been seen before in the UK. It also boasts the most atmospheric Angels Christmas Market, with over 100 individual Tyrolean-style chalets selling unique and quirky gifts providing a perfect spot for Christmas shopping.
Santa Land is hugely popular with families with young children. You can visit Santa’s Grotto for FREE – named by Time Out as the ‘Best Outdoor Experience’- where Santa welcomes children with a surprise gift.
Fantastic food and drink contributes to making Winter Wonderland such a phenomenal success. Bratwurst sausages and continental beer, steaks and mulled wine are amongst the offerings in the Bavarian Village. In the midst of the other heated cafes, bars and restaurants are culinary delights closer to home by way of hog-roasts, fish & chips, pies, hot cider and real ale. And Winter Wonderland would not be complete without the beautifully themed ‘candy castles’ selling gingerbread hearts, roasted nuts, crepes and Christmas stollen…
